"That's How Our Story Ends"
words and music by singer-songwriter Frank Lamphere. This is a pop song with a bluesy feel that swings. InitiallyFrank was refering to it as "That's Life - Part Two". The story has a somewhat of a dark tone. A man who has been cheated on many times (and has put up with it) has finally reached his breaking point. He speaks his peace and decides that no matter what, her recent excursion outside the home is unforgiveable.

The musical arrangement is filled with the soulful piano of Jim Ryan and gutsy tenor work of Eric Schneider. Building with intensity with the solos, the tune builds to a climactic finale.

That's How Our Story Ends

Now, if you didn't think,

That it was worth one more try

You should have sat me down, woman

Looked me in the eye

Been straight and told me

That the love was gone,

And that, you were gonna' fly

It was three long weeks,

Before you returned

With no regrets,

From what I discerned

I've had time to think this through,

My options were few

It’s over, this bridge has been burned

Now, you promised me,

There’d be no one else

Life to you is one big cliché

Was it so bad?

All our time, just a waste?

Why'd you throw it all away?

I'm so let down and trying

to comprehend

Why you left,

But now to you, I recommend

Go on your casual way,

I'll be okay

And That's How Our Story Ends

I should have seen

The writing on the wall

Not believed the lies I was fed

All those late night calls,

Long “business” trips

Just like my friends had always said

You broke all the rules

and you can't defend

Your wonton ways,

Let’s not pretend!

Just head back out that door,

Any tears I'll ignore
